DokuWiki – documentation management
DokuWiki is a Wiki program for creating online documentation. It is intended to be used mainly by developers and small workgroups. DokuWiki is one of the many scripts, which could be installed using FreeHostia’s 1-click script installer – Elefante Installer. It only takes a few minutes for existing FreeHostia users to get it installed directly from within their web hosting control panel. For new hosting users, installing DokuWiki is as easy as selecting it from the pre-installed scripts drop-down menu on the sign-up form.
DokuWiki is free and open-source applications written in PHP. Unlike many other PHP scripts, DokuWiki does not require a database. All documents are saved as files. DokuWiki’s main purpose is online documentation management and it has a long list of features, which make it a great tool for this purpose. It has a simple syntax, allows unlimited page revisions, keeps track of recent changes as well as previous versions of each document, allows side-by-side comparison (diff) of an older and a newer version and much more.
DokuWiki works great on FreeHostia’s powerful web servers and it is available both for free hosting users and paid hosting users.
